Today we are celebrating a massive win for accessibility. It all comes down to an incredible healthcare professional in New South Wales named Angela.
Angela is an Occupational Therapist who works primarily with people living with spinal cord injuries. She is an absolute rockstar. Her daily programme revolves around finding clever ways to help her clients navigate the world and reclaim their autonomy. We all know how good it feels to tackle the day on our own terms. For Angela, finding practical tools that give her clients that feeling of independence is a top priority. She understands that dignity is just as important as medical care.
Traditional toothbrushes require a huge amount of dexterity and fine motor control. If you have low hand function, just gripping a standard plastic handle can be incredibly frustrating.
